Maybe To Focused.........

Its late Sat Night, and I cant sleep. My mind keeps going and going, constantly thinking. As I lay in bed, I start thinking about Setup for church in the morning. 

Every detail about it, 

How things are unloaded from the trailer?  - In what order does the setup need to be in?  - What channels am I going to put vocals, Guitar, Headset on?  - Do I try and go ALL wireless tomorrow?  - Lighting, How many scenes to set up?  - What color lighting for what part of the service?  - How can I make setup and tear down easier?  - How can I make it smoother?  

and hundreds more. 

I need to find a way to calm my mind, slow it down.

Any Suggestions?

Perfect Moments

Ever just have one of those moments, were you think, “This is perfect” usually its in hindsight that you realize these moments have past, rarely do you think that when you’re actually “IN” the moment. Growing up in the suburbs of southeastern VA, you don’t get to see many stars. Mainly because of the all the lights from the nearby cities, But on nights like tonight, when theirs not a cloud in sight, the temp drops below 14 degrees and the cold wraps itself around your bones. You can see them, clear and beautiful, they give a sense of steadiness and peace to my world. Being Hyper active I’m always moving, always running, even when I’m sitting still my mind moves a millions miles a minute, thinking, calculating and reacting. But Oh the stars tonight, when I looked at them I felt at peace, and the world fell silent but for the transformer and street lights, the sound of the wind blowing thru the trees. The cold frozen grass crunching beneath my feet as I walked. It was perfect in everyway. God’s beauty shining thru

GOD is SO SO SO GOOD

So for those of you who don't know, I have been with Christ's Fellowship (a church plant in downtown Portsmouth, VA) for a little over a year now. It started as a house church, a group of believers gathering together to worship. 

I've never been one of those people that's like, "God is amazing and he doing amazing things in our church", but the fact of the matter is God IS doing amazing things. 

The first time I attended CF, we were meeting in house and there were about  15 people. Now we meet in the Effingham YMCA, and attendance ranged form 45 to 80 people on a Sunday. Well today, we got an ENORMOUS gift to the church. God is just blessing us right and left. I am very very excited to see what he does in the future with this church.

Please Pray for Christ's Fellowship, Pray for the City of Portsmouth.

Jesus and Loneliness....

For the last month or so, I've been fighting a strong feeling of loneliness. It shows its ugly head usually when I'm by myself and doing some deep thinking. On one of these occasions I had a thought.

Could Jesus get Lonely?

Was Jesus ever lonely?

As I was working these questions over I thought about Jesus' life. 

Jesus took human form, We know he could feel pain, we know he could feel joy and sorrow. 

So YES, I think Jesus could feel lonely.

Now, Was he ever lonely? 

After Jesus was baptized, he was lead into the "wilderness" by the Spirit. We don't know much about what went on except that he was "tempted" by satan. 

But In the book of Mark it also says "He was with the wild animals, and the angels attended him."

Why did the angels, "attend" him?

Was he lonely by himself?

Maybe, I'm not sure.

Was he lonely that night in the Garden, when all his friends were falling asleep when he needed them most? 

Maybe.

GEEK ALERT BE PREPARED

MAC WORLD 2009

Steve Jobs didn't give the Keynote address this year at MACWORLD 2009 Expo,  it really wasn't that eventful. Only new hardware that was announced was the new 17 inch MacBook Pro. But they did announce lowering the cost of songs on iTunes, as well as making the transition to DRM free music, but what I was happy about was the fact that I can now download music straight to my iPhone over the 3G network, and I don't have to be tied to a WiFi network. 

So all in all wasn't that great of an Expo.
